The Charles de Gaulle rose, named after the famous army officer, statesman, and former President of France, is a hybrid tea rose from Meilland. The blooms are a light lilac color similar to the Blue Moon roses of which there are many at the Gar. The flowers are cup-shaped and fairly big with 35 to 50 petals and often come in clusters, with an intense perfume giving a suggestion of verbena and lemon.
